ORtek 2 in 1 Skypad SKP-3300 Voip Phone

Monday, November 27th, 2006

Note:  For a Skype phone I actually like the design.  While I am all for multi-functional gadgets (hey the more, the merrier) sometimes one does crave simplicity! Take a look at the ORtek 2 in 1 Skypad SKP-3300 which is both a Skype phone and a numeric keyboard! Not bad actually if you get use to the keyboard !

The Skypad SKP-3300 (crafty title!) can be plugged

Nokia Launches VoIP Blocker

Monday, November 27th, 2006

Note: Bad Bad Bad, I can’t stress this enough.  If a consumer pays for an unlimited data plan on a respective network the user should be able to run whatever traffic they want on it as long as it is legal.  The “Internet” is the greatest gift that has been given to future generations.  We need to preserve some the best aspects of the Internet like Net Neutrality, decentralized control and basic privacy.
Nokia is launching a platform which defies

When Wi-Fi goes too far

Monday, November 27th, 2006

Gary Schaffer looked out his window here last week to discover a reporter standing on his lawn, pirating his wireless Internet access to test a new cellphone.

The phone, made by Belkin, is one of several new mobile devices that allow users to make free or low-cost phone calls over the Internet. They are designed to take advantage of the hundreds of thousands of wireless access points deployed in cafйs, parks, businesses and, most important, homes.

Linksys RT31P2 Router for Vonage Review

Monday, November 20th, 2006

The Linksys RT31P2 router for Vonage is built upon tried and true Linksys foundations, but has the added feature of being VoIP friendly.  The router offers two independent VoIP phone jacks, meaning that you can make and recieve independent calls through the router from two VoIP phones.  In effect, this means that you are given two phone lines for the price of one.  Because the system was designed in collaboration with Vonage, you can rest assured

Espow Skype USB Phone Review

Monday, November 20th, 2006

The Espow Skype USB phone (ESSK001WO1) is commonly known as the Skybee and is a package which offers a USB plug-in handheld VoIP phone.  While reactions to the phone’s quality have been mixed, there can be no debate about its price.  As one of the most economical packages in VoIP, the Espow Skype Skybee phone is perfect for those on a budget.  That is especially true because the system requirements for Skybee are relatively minimal, meaning that

Motorola VoIP Adapter for Vonage (VT1005) Review

Monday, November 20th, 2006

The Motorola VoIP adapter for Vonage (VT1005) has been heavily marketed by Vonage as an all-in-one package for routing and VoIP services.  And to that end it has been, by most regards, rather successful, providing routing, some filtering, and VoIP translation.  But like many things promising much, it has come up short; the Motorola should be coupled with a devoted router if you want to get rid of that annoying cutoff that so often happens at then

VXI TP100 USB Headset for VoIP Review

Monday, November 20th, 2006

The VXI TP100 USB headset for VoIP is more than just another VoIP compatable headset.  The headset actually has a converter which changes the audio traveling through the headset from analog to digital format.  This has the benefit of eliminating all the annoying feedback when using VoIP, a problem that

Linksys PAP2 Phone Adapter for Vonage Review

Monday, November 20th, 2006

The Linksys PAP2 phone adapter for Vonage overcomes one of the biggest factors that has prevented otherwise willing people from making the change to VoIP, the fact that they already own and like non-VoIP telephone handsets.  The PAP2 phone adapter offers Vonage users two independent phone jacks which

Zonet VoIP USB Phone (ZSY5101) Review

Monday, November 20th, 2006

The Zonet VoIP USB phone (ZSY5101) is one of the newest VoIP products on the market.  With its sleek black and silver design, these products are flying off the shelves.  Its simple to use interface and direct USB plug-in make this product great for those not so technologically savvy.  But by far the most appealing thing about this phone is the price.  Priced well below many other VoIP phones this choice is also an economical one.

i2 Telecom VoiceStick Portable USB Phone Review

Monday, November 20th, 2006

The i2 Telecom VoiceStick Portable USB Phone is by far the coolest USB VoIP phone I’ve encountered yet.  It is by no means a traditional looking phone, as it is simply a USB ‘pen drive’ with a headset. Reactions have been positive to the phones easy installation, compatability, but most of all its portability.
